Relief Is Closer Than You Think
That tooth that's been hurting for weeks? The one you've been avoiding because you're dreading the appointment? Let's take care of it.
Nobody wants to lose a tooth. Dr. Candido always tries to save teeth when possible — that's why he believes in conservative dentistry. But sometimes a tooth is too damaged, too decayed, or too infected to save. In those cases, extraction is the right call — and the fastest path to relief.
At Rome Dental, we handle extractions with care and precision. We'll explain exactly what's happening. And here's something that makes a difference: Dr. Candido personally calls every extraction patient the evening after their procedure to check in.
When Does A Tooth Need To Be Extracted?
Common reasons: decay that's destroyed too much tooth structure, infection that can't be cleared with root canal, cracked or fractured tooth that can't be repaired, severe gum disease that's loosened the tooth, or crowding before orthodontic treatment.
Does Getting A Tooth Pulled Hurt?
Not during the procedure. We numb the area thoroughly — you'll feel pressure and movement, but not pain.
How Much Does A Tooth Extraction Cost?
Simple extractions: $275 per tooth.
Surgical extractions: $350.
Most dental insurance covers extractions. Our membership plan provides 15% off.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does a tooth need to be extracted?
A tooth may need extraction when it's too damaged, decayed, or infected to save. Common reasons include decay that has destroyed too much tooth structure, infection that can't be cleared with a root canal, a cracked or fractured tooth that can't be repaired, severe gum disease that has loosened the tooth, or crowding before orthodontic treatment. Dr. Candido always tries to save teeth when possible — extraction is a last resort, not a first option. How much does a tooth extraction cost?
Simple extractions typically cost $150 to $300 per tooth. Surgical extractions (for impacted teeth or teeth that have broken off at the gumline) cost $300 to $600. Most dental insurance covers extractions. At Rome Dental, we offer financing through CareCredit, Cherry, Lending Club, and Proceed Finance. Our membership plan provides 15% off all procedures. What should I do after a tooth extraction?
After an extraction, bite down on the gauze we provide for 30 to 45 minutes to help a blood clot form. For the first 24 hours, don't spit, use a straw, smoke, or rinse vigorously — these can dislodge the clot and cause a painful condition called dry socket. Stick to soft foods, avoid the extraction site when chewing, and take pain relievers as directed. Apply a cold compress to your cheek (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) to reduce swelling. After 24 hours, gently rinse with warm salt water to keep the area clean. Call us if you have severe pain, heavy bleeding, or fever.
