Restorative Dentistry in Rome, NY
Crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays from Dr. Jonathan Candido, with honest advice about what your tooth actually needs and a repair made to last.
Honest recommendations
When a tooth cracks or starts to ache, it's easy to brace for bad news and a big bill. At Rome Dental & Implant Center, restorative decisions come down to one thing: what your tooth actually needs. Dr. Candido always tries to save a tooth when he can, and if a smaller repair will do the job, that's what he recommends.

Keeping as much of your own tooth as possible
The right repair depends on how much healthy tooth remains. An inlay fits within the chewing surface of your tooth, an onlay covers a little more when the damage reaches further, and a crown covers and protects the whole tooth when it's cracked or worn down.
We repair teeth with inlays, onlays and crowns because they give you a stronger result, and before a crown Dr. Candido builds up the tooth underneath so your repair lasts.
Your crown, previewed
Trying your crown before it's permanent
You'll see your crown every time you smile, so it's worth getting it right. Dr. Candido designs your crown and shows you what it will look like, then you wear a temporary crown for a little while to see how it looks and feels in everyday life.
If the color isn't right, we adjust it, and we only make your permanent crown once you're happy with it.
Bridges and implants
Choosing the best way to fill a gap
One of the questions Dr. Candido hears most is whether to get a bridge or an implant. For most people missing a single tooth, a single tooth implant is usually the better long-term choice, because it stands on its own and keeps the jawbone healthy.
A bridge can make more sense if you'd like a faster solution, the neighboring teeth already have crowns, or implant surgery isn't right for you, and he'll explain both before you decide.
Advice you can trust
Getting only the care you need
Some patients come to us after being told they need thousands of dollars of work, when a simpler repair would have done the job. Dr. Candido gives you every option, explains why each step matters, and never pushes the most expensive one. When a case is better handled elsewhere, he tells you so: “I know when to say no.”
Before any work begins, you'll know what he recommends, why he recommends it and what it costs, so you can decide with a clear head and no pressure.
Insurance and payment
Paying for your care with confidence
We're out of network with all insurance plans, but we're glad to help you file for reimbursement, and what your plan pays back is up to them. Financing is available through outside lenders, with approval based on your credit. Our Finances & Insurance page has the details.
